Hello my name is Lindsay! I’m a nurse practitioner by day and take care of animals in my spare time.
My husband Christopher and I moved out to Calcutta, Ohio in 2011 and negotiated a horse that came with the house, Sarita. Still wild to think about it! We learned real quick that Ms. Sarita was the matriarch of the farm. I felt she desperately needed some friends, so first came chickens and ducks, next 2 goats, and then 3 kittens all within a few months time of moving in.
Since 2011, we’ve loved and cared for a horse, 4 dogs, 4 rabbits, 5 goats, 54 cats, a bearded dragon and innumerable chickens/ducks. This dream has been a long time in the making, but it was finally time to put a name to it!
I see “Golden Years” as a place where animals, especially those in the last phase of their life, being able to come to, to live out the rest of their days, with love, compassion, and the best palliative/hospice care around.
Golden Years Animal Sanctuary is going to be better because of people like YOU! Your love and support mean the absolute world to us! Even though we’ve been doing this work for many years, we are looking forward to helping more animals in the future.
Caring for animals is our gift and we are blessed to share it. Welcome to Golden Years Animal Sanctuary. We’re grateful you’re here ![]()
